June in Jávea is dominated by the biggest party of the year: the Fogueres de Sant Joan, during which the whole town celebrates the beginning of summer. The festivities tend to begin the first weekend of the month with the coronation of the Fogueres Queen and the presentation of the Quintà, the young people coming of age during the year, the protagonists of the fiesta.
